Two-Way devices can report information back to the computer interface. For example, the ActiveHome (CM-11) could send out a status request to a two-way lamp module and it would respond by reporting whether it was on or off. Two-way thermostats can report detailed information about their current temperature and settings.

Probably the most common example of a two-way module is the RR501 transceiver. It also serves as a two-way appliance module.
